Relationship- Enhancing communication is a two-way street that requires us to think of others as much as ourselves. Communication means a sharing together of what you really are. With the stethoscope of love you listen till you hear the heartbeat of the others. My friend mis-understood me. Were both in a bad mood and we don’t want to listen to each other. I remember someone said to me. When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves. My frankness and the words I used was crucial. I admit it’s my fault. watching my words is a hard work when I’m angry or upset. I realize I should listen and slow to speak or to get angry. Listening is actually one of the most powerful expressions of love. Because listening shows how important that person to me, their ideas and feelings matter to me. “Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others.” How much I listen to how much I talk is a pretty good barometer of how much I really look to the interest of others. But it doesn’t mean that I’m to be doomed to a life of never sharing what’s on their mind and heart. Absolutely not! For in the same way that when I give, I receive back so much more; when I give the gift of a listening ear, others reach out in their hearts to know me better. I learn that the more I listen to others, the more I understood them and the more they opened up to me. I’m growing closer each time I “quick to listen and slow to speak.”
